Most of these are small businesses that were very badly hit by the series of shocks which hit London's tourism industry - Foot & Mouth disease, 9/11, SARS and the Gulf War. The assignment was to work with the London Development Agency, Visit London and Business Link for London to develop a toolkit to help small business prepare for, and respond to, the next crisis. The result was a comprehensively researched toolkit, "Business as Usual". Business Development Manager, Business Link for London, Keith Gilbey, said: "Mary Lynch Associates brought specialist knowledge of crisis management to this assignment. What they also demonstrated convincingly was that they were able to translate this knowledge into material that was practical and relevant to a small business audience. Their experience and understanding of the tourism industry shone through everything they produced." In 2007 the London Development Agency commissioned an update of the Toolkit and a sample of one section is featured here.
